Cynthia Rylant, The High-Rise Private Eyes series We’ve neglected to mention this delightful series for children, ages 6 and up. Written by local author Rylant, a Newberry Medal winner, they are illustrated by G. Brian Karas. The Case of the Sleepy Sloth is the latest (Aug., Greenwillow hc, 14.99). It is the 5th in the series, preceded by The Case of the Missing Monkey, The Case of the Climbing Cat, The Case of the Puzzling Possum and The Case of the Troublesome Turtle (all Greenwillow pbs, 3.95 each or hc 14.95 each).
