This Award was first presented in 1996 by The Friends of Mystery, who are based in Portland Oregon. This award is given to the best mystery written by an author whose primary residence is in the Pacific Northwest. They define the PNW as Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho or the Province of British Columbia.
